Make Resource Editing Easier and Faster: Automate Your Repetitive Tasks.Heaventools Software releases Resource Tuner Console 1.10, a command-line resource editor runnable from the console. This script driven tool takes the drudgery out of manual resource editing and repetitive tasks. Flexible scripting enables you to access and edit a wide range of different resource types easier and faster.A number of GUI products are available (PE Explorer for example), but application developers often need a command-line utility to allow modification of file version information on existing Windows EXE or DLL files. While these files already contain a Version Info resource (embedded into the executable during linking), Resource Tuner Console enables you to automatically stamp their version during the final stage of the build process. If these files contain no Version Info resource, Resource Tuner Console will create this resource for you. Resource Tuner Console can handle a variety of different 32-bit PE ("portable executable") file types, including .EXE, .DLL, .SCR, .CPL, Device Drivers (.SYS), OCX Controls, and Borland Libraries (.dpl and .bpl). If you need to update existing resources, or add new ones for several hundred files, you are more than likely going to want some way to implement this with a batch file. Whenever large numbers of files have to be processed or to be accessible through scripting, you need Resource Tuner Console. Now you can edit strings in and work in multiple languages. Resource Tuner Console accepts input from a script file and supports VBScript, Unicode and multi-byte character sets. No more struggling with OEM/ANSI code pages. Make your applications and data operable and accessible in different languages. Resource Tuner enables you to customize any application by editing and replacing string resources and icons within large numbers of files. Version 1.1 now supports adding and replacing an icon resource with an icon from an ico file, editing StringTables and MessageTables using an external unicode text file. It will let you replace all string resources in a second. Resource Tuner Console runs on Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP. It also supports Windows 2003 Server.
